BLAKE2b Bitcoin Fork Wants Miners to Wait 45 Days to Touch Their Coins

The developers who maintain the minority chain that forked away from Bitcoin on Aug. 8, 2026, plan to make it so miners cannot unlock newly mined coins for 45 days. The news comes as BTCB2, also labeled Bitcoin BLAKE2b, Bitcoin BIP-110, or XBT on some trading venues, has dropped 84% below its all-time high.
