How record diesel prices will rip through the U.S. economy. Trucks and rails are only the start

Diesel fuel is considered to be the U.S. economy's "single most universal tangible input" and that means what starts with truckers and railroads will ultimately hit consumers if record prices persist.  The energy shock caused by wars in Ukraine and Iran could send home heating oil costs up by more than 30% this winter and require "significant sacrifices" by consumers, according to one heating industry executive.
