
A Clearer Policy Path
U.S. equity markets were mixed as Warsh's modestly hawkish Jackson Hole message pushed short-term yields higher, while renewed confidence in the AI infrastructure cycle helped stabilize large-cap technology. Warsh reaffirmed the Fed's commitment to its 2% PCE inflation target, emphasized that inflation remains “quite elevated,” and kept the door open to additional rate hikes if inflation doesn't moderate. The Treasury curve flattened sharply as September hike odds jumped to near 60% from 40%. The 2-Year Yield jumped 11 basis points to the cusp of two-year highs.
